The end of summer 2024 is already in sight! In Tuscany it is already getting dark a little earlier and light a little later.
9 months we are now together in Tuscany and what a beautiful (warm) first summer 2024 we have experienced!
By now there is not really a difference anymore between workweek and weekend and possibly we make more hours than we have made before in Holland in a week. And it doesn't matter at all!
We enjoy ourselves to the fullest and also.... To be honest, sometimes we really think.... where did we start 😊
The months of May-June-July were already pretty well filled with the first bookings, mostly from our network in the Netherlands, family, friends and former colleagues have been.

At the beginning of August everything was (finally) complete, the paperwork was completed the Agriturismo was a fact, the olive trees were in the ground AND we liked it! This month we were booked up almost every day.
Soon there was a good balance between the work in the Bed & Breakfast and the attention to be paid to the land.
Many breakfasts were made in August, many positive reviews we received, many kind words were written in the guestbook.
Many people from Italy we have been able to host, which for learning the language has really been a godsend!
The two most beautiful new Italian words we have learned are:
Divertitivy - veel plezier
Rilassarsi - relaxen
There were also bookings for one night, how nice it is then that people decide to book extra night(s). Simply because i due cipressi - Bed & Breakfast has so much to offer that one night was considered too short!
Sometimes it gave us the color of our cheeks.
The reactions were so positive and laudatory.
The 10-n's were flying around our ears.
Never before in our lives have we received such high marks as in the past month. 👌
It also gave a kind of unease at times, do we not have to adjust or do anything differently now already?
So is it really all already perfect....? Surely we can and will continue to grow?
Of course we want to!!!
There are still many plans for example for the Autumn and Christmas & New Year period 2024 as well as for the year 2025!
Autumn 2024:
October is dedicated to picking olives, a special package is available for this.

The Bed & Breakfast is open from October 1 to November 16, 2024, in this period you can enjoy 15% discount. There is plenty to do in October. Santa Fiora and its surroundings have many activities.
For example, on the weekends of October 12-13 / 19-20 / 26-27; festival del Marrone (chestnuts).
Or / also on the weekends of October 12-13 / 19-20; Sagra del Fungo a miatino (mushrooms).

Christmas & New Year's Eve 2024:
December is a nice period to be in Tuscany, the temperature is average and it is then very pleasant to be outside all day. You can go to Siena, the coast, Saturnia hot springs or Florence. It is all possible, easily accessible from our location, not nearly as busy and much less hot in this period.
If you prefer to stay closer, you can hike on Monte Amiata and in the wooded area of Santa Fiora.
What is really special to experience is:
Fiaccolata! (Torchlight Walk)
Every year on December 30, two tall stacked pyramids made of tree trunks stand ready in the square (piazza Garibaldi) in Santa Fiora. Miners walk through the streets singing and performing the traditional “miner's song. In their hands they hold torches to light the log pyramids with.
The feast that the area comes to Santa Fiora for. The atmosphere is convivial and fine.
Locals offer hot wine (“vino caldo” or “vin brulé”) for a small fee, or freshly prepared soup or the traditional Polenta.

With great enthusiasm we look forward to the 2025 season!
- In mid-June we hope to set up the pools again.
- In 2025 we offer on the day of arrival the (spelt) pasta with traditional Bolognese sauce (for a small fee see price list) This was a great success this year, so it stays!
- Once a week we will organize a pizza night.
- Several times a week Marga will give yoga lessons (for a small fee) hopefully outside, depending on the flies and mosquitoes and otherwise in a nice tipi tent. You can sign up for this one at a time.
- We have more than enough tips and ideas to easily spend a week with us, enjoy, unwind, hike or bike and see much of southern Tuscany!
- In the summer period there are many organized activities in Santa Fiora and surroundings.
